The Castlebridge Set Dancers are a group of dancers who meet in Castlebridge Community Centre on Tuesday nights from 8pm to 10pm. They meet from the beginning of September to the end of April. In the early to mid-nineties there was a resurgence in the art of set dancing throughout Ireland. The traditional sets, as danced in houses, only survived in the west of the country, and were generally danced in local pubs, with just one set being danced, that which was local to the venue. When the resurgence
happened people wanted to learn a variety of sets, and classes to learn different sets sprang up around the country. Castlebridge was one of the first to hold them. In the mid-nineties there were up to 15 different venues in County Wexford and a few workshop weekends were also held.
